Amazon announced its fall 2026 Echo lineup on October 28, led by the Echo Show 16, a 16-inch smart display that costs $499.99 and is open for preorder. The company also showed a new Echo Dot, an Echo Studio with a built-in camera, a bedside Echo Time clock and an Alexa Photo Frame, and tied many of their features to Alexa+, its paid-tier assistant that comes with Prime.
The hardware matters less than the pattern. Amazon's own announcement says certain features on these devices need Alexa+, which is included with a Prime membership. The devices are built to show off the assistant.
Echo Show 16 costs $499.99 and ships later this year
The Echo Show 16 has a 16-inch full HD screen, Fire TV built in, and a 13-megapixel camera with night vision. Amazon says the camera's Visual ID range grows to 17 feet, up from 8. A physical button turns off the microphones and camera.
- Price: $499.99, or $569.99 with the Nanomatte screen, which Amazon says cuts glare by more than 90%.
- Preorders are open with $100 off. Amazon says it "will begin shipping later this year" and gives no date.
- It adds Alexa Home Map, an interactive 3D view of your home for controlling smart devices.
- Stands cost extra: $69.99 for a compatible stand and $124.99 for a swivel-and-tilt stand.

What Alexa+ adds
Amazon says the latest Alexa holds more natural conversations, asks clarifying questions and handles multi-step requests. Conversations are saved as Cards you can continue across Echo devices, the Alexa app and Alexa.com. Features such as photo selection by faces and season on the Photo Frame depend on it.
What we don't know yet
Amazon gave no ship date for the Echo Show 16 or the Photo Frame, and it did not say what Alexa+ costs for people without Prime. Independent reviews of the new devices were not available when this was written.
