Key takeaways

  • Adding .rss to a Reddit subreddit, search or user URL returned a working Atom feed in tests on November 4, 2026.
  • Feeds return 25 items by default, limit=100 returned 100, and fast repeated requests got HTTP 429 errors.
  • AyeWatch watches a subreddit, a search or a user and alerts only on posts that match a plain-English rule, but it gives no RSS link and skips comments.

A Reddit RSS feed still exists for almost every page: add .rss to the end of a subreddit, search or user URL and a feed reader gets an Atom feed back. If what you really wanted was a ping when a matching post appears, an AyeWatch Reddit monitor does that job with a filter that RSS cannot give you.

We tested each format below with curl on November 4, 2026. Each one returned a working feed when requests were spaced out.

Reddit RSS feed URLs that work

Replace NAME, QUERY and POSTID with your own values. Use www.reddit.com; the bare reddit.com host redirects there first.

What you want Feed URL
A subreddit, newest posts https://www.reddit.com/r/NAME/new/.rss
A subreddit, hot posts https://www.reddit.com/r/NAME/.rss
A subreddit, top of the week https://www.reddit.com/r/NAME/top/.rss?t=week
Two subreddits in one feed https://www.reddit.com/r/NAME1+NAME2/new/.rss
A search across Reddit https://www.reddit.com/search.rss?q=QUERY&sort=new
A search inside one subreddit https://www.reddit.com/r/NAME/search.rss?q=QUERY&restrict_sr=on&sort=new
One user's posts https://www.reddit.com/user/NAME/submitted/.rss
One user's comments https://www.reddit.com/user/NAME/comments/.rss
New comments in a subreddit https://www.reddit.com/r/NAME/comments/.rss
One thread and its replies https://www.reddit.com/r/NAME/comments/POSTID/.rss
Posts linking to a website https://www.reddit.com/domain/example.com/new/.rss

A feed returns 25 items by default. Adding ?limit=100 (or &limit=100 after other parameters) returned 100 in our test. Leaving out the time on a top feed is a trap: /top/.rss with no t= gave us only five items.

Why a Reddit feed can stop working

Rate limits. When we sent requests a few seconds apart, Reddit answered with HTTP 429 after the first one. Spaced about a minute apart, every request worked. Readers that poll many feeds from one server hit this often.

Blocked clients. A request with curl's default user agent got a 403 error page. Some readers and cloud servers get the same treatment.

Old Reddit links. Feed URLs on old.reddit.com now redirect to a login page, so switch any saved old.reddit.com feeds to www.reddit.com.

More logins ahead. On October 29, 2026, Reddit's CEO wrote that Reddit will become a primarily logged-in experience, starting with tests in some markets outside the U.S. The post does not mention RSS, so nobody outside Reddit knows yet whether feeds stay open.

No filter. A search feed returns everything Reddit's search matches. In our test, a one-word search pulled posts from dozens of unrelated communities.

When you want an alert, not a reader

Many people who search for a Reddit RSS feed want to hear when someone posts about their product, a deal they are waiting for, or a question they can answer. A reader only helps if you open it.

AyeWatch watches Reddit for you and sends a short alert when a new post matches. Its Reddit monitors cover the same four sources most feeds cover: a subreddit, a search across Reddit, a search inside one subreddit, and one user. Add a plain-English rule under Only alert me about and AI reads each new post, so you only hear about the relevant ones. Alerts arrive in your feed and as push on the web, iOS and Android apps, and paid plans add email, Slack, Discord and webhooks.

To set one up, open Create a monitor, choose Reddit, pick the source, paste the link or type the search, and choose a schedule.

AyeWatch is not a feed generator and gives you no XML link. It reads posts only, not comments, and cannot see private subreddits. If you want every post in a reader, or you need comment feeds, the Reddit RSS feed is still the right tool.

Which to use

  • You read everything in Feedly, Inoreader or another reader: use the feed URLs above.
  • You want to know only when a relevant post appears: use AyeWatch. There is a free preview with no card, and paid plans start at $9 a month.
  • You want both: keep the feed for browsing and add a monitor for the few searches that matter.

Frequently asked questions

Does Reddit still have RSS feeds?

Yes. As of November 2026, adding .rss to a subreddit, search, user or thread URL on www.reddit.com returns an Atom feed. Old Reddit feed links now redirect to a login page.

Can I get an RSS feed of Reddit comments?

Yes. Use /r/NAME/comments/.rss for new comments in a subreddit, /user/NAME/comments/.rss for one user, or add .rss to a thread link for that thread's replies.

Does AyeWatch give me an RSS feed for Reddit?

No. AyeWatch sends alerts to its feed, its apps and, on paid plans, email, Slack, Discord or a webhook. Use Reddit's own feeds if you need XML.
