The Free, Education Pro, Max and Enterprise limits come from the help center plan comparison. Enterprise Max's price comes from the October 13 pricing post, and the help center page does not state it.
How much Perplexity Pro costs
The October 13 post gives Pro as $20 a month. The pricing page shows only annual billing, at $17 a month. That works out to $204 a year, against $240 on monthly billing, though the page does not say the annual total itself.
Perplexity's help center says Pro adds, among other things, ten times as many citations per answer, file and app creation, more uploads, extended access to Research, image generation, limited video generation, and advanced models. It names GPT-5.2, Claude Sonnet 4.6 and Gemini 3.1 Pro as examples.
What the Pro limits are
Perplexity does not give Pro a fixed number. The plan comparison lists weekly limits for Pro Searches and file uploads and monthly limits for Research queries, browser agent queries and file and app creation, all "for average use." The help center also says access to advanced models may be limited during weeks of especially heavy use, and video generation is limited.
The pricing page adds that Pro includes 4,000 bonus credits for Perplexity Computer, its agent feature. The page's own table is hard to read in places, so treat the Computer details as unconfirmed.
Perplexity Max price and what it adds
Max costs $200 a month, or $167 a month billed annually. According to the help center, it includes everything in Pro plus the highest access to advanced models, extended file and app creation limits, early access to new products and priority support. The pricing page lists 10,000 monthly credits and 35,000 bonus credits for Max.
The limits are higher but still exist. Max is described as weekly and monthly limits "for advanced use," which is a different tier of cap and not an end to caps. The page's tagline of "no limits" does not match that.
Education and Enterprise prices
Education Pro is $10 a month for verified students and educators, checked through SheerID. The help center text says Pro Searches are "unlimited" while its table lists weekly limits, so the table is the safer reading.
Enterprise Pro starts at $40 a seat a month. Eligible educational institutions and nonprofits pay $30 a seat a month or $300 a seat a year. The help center says Perplexity is retiring the Organization File Repository on October 1, 2026.
The API Platform is separate and pay-as-you-go. Perplexity lists no rates on that help center page and no free API credits.
What to check before you pay
