The Aura is the first pair of wired XR glasses built on Android XR, Google's platform for headsets and glasses. It is not wireless: the glasses connect by cable to a pocketable compute puck that does the heavy processing.
Price and release date
Google gives one price: launch pricing starts at $1,099 through the end of the year, as of October 28, 2026. Its post does not say what the Aura costs after that, or whether other memory configurations cost more. XREAL's Aura page lists two puck options, 16GB of memory with 512GB of storage, or 12GB with 256GB, but shows no prices.
| Market | Orders open | Notes |

| Canada | October 28 | Order at xreal.com/aura |
| Korea | October 28 | Order at xreal.com/aura |
| Japan | November 2 | Per Google |
Buyers must be 18 or older and need a compatible account. Google does not name other countries.
Is XREAL Aura wireless?
No. The glasses plug into the puck with a cable. Google says the puck holds the battery and the processing, and can also work as a trackpad. XREAL says the puck weighs 265 grams, has a 4,455 mAh battery, an active fan and Wi-Fi 6/6E, and runs Qualcomm's Snapdragon Reality Elite platform, a chip Google says debuts on the Aura. XREAL lists two USB-C ports: one for the glasses, one for charging and DisplayPort video input.

What it does
The lenses are transparent, so you see the room with windows floating in it. Google lists these features:
- A multi-window workspace. You can pair a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
- Wired Mirroring. Connect a laptop over a USB-C cable that supports video output, and the laptop screen appears as a window. No software install is needed.
- Gemini, Google's assistant, which can see what is on screen and in the room.
- Spatial view, which turns video, photos or games into 3D with a tap.
- Dimmable lenses, which darken to block out the room and clear when someone steps into view.
- A new Google Photos spatial gallery, which Google says is coming this year.
Google says over 150 apps are made for XR, and the glasses also run apps from Google Play. It names XR games from Owlchemy Labs and Resolution Games, upcoming games Fallout Factions and Project Hail Mary: Journey Among the Stars, and streaming from YouTube and Google TV.
XREAL Aura vs Viture
Search interest around the Aura includes a comparison with Viture, another maker of display glasses. Google and XREAL do not compare the Aura to any rival, and we have not read Viture's specifications for this article, so we are not making that comparison here. What the sources do establish is that the Aura is a standalone computer once the puck is connected, with Android XR, Gemini and Google Play, not only a screen for a phone or laptop.
What we don't know yet
- The price after the launch period ends.
- Battery life, for both glasses and puck.
- Which countries beyond the U.S., Canada, Korea and Japan get it, and when.
- How the glasses perform in independent reviews. All specifications above come from Google and XREAL.
Watch for the first shipments in mid-November, which will bring the first hands-on reviews.
