## Key takeaways

- As of November 2, 2026, Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM) is free, or comes with Google AI Plus at $4.99, Pro at $19.99 and Ultra from $99.99 a month.
- Notebook limits rise from 100 notebooks and 50 sources per notebook on the free tier to 500 notebooks and up to 600 sources on Ultra.
- Google gives usage allowances as multipliers (2x, 4x, then 5x or 20x Pro), not daily counts, and refreshes the quota every 5 hours up to a weekly limit.

NotebookLM pricing runs from free to $99.99 a month and up, as of November 2, 2026. NotebookLM is now called Gemini Notebook, and Google does not sell it on its own: you get higher limits by buying a [Google AI plan](https://gemini.google/subscriptions/), which costs $4.99 a month for Plus, $19.99 for Pro and from $99.99 for Ultra.

If you only want to know whether it costs anything, we answer that in [Is NotebookLM free?](https://claudegpt.si/news/is-notebooklm-free). This article is the price and limits side by side, plan by plan.

## NotebookLM pricing by plan

Prices come from Google's subscriptions page and limits from the Gemini Notebook help center, both read on November 2, 2026.

| Plan | Price per month | Notebooks per user | Sources per notebook | Usage allowance |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Free (Standard) | $0 | 100 | 50 | Standard limits |
| Google AI Plus | $4.99 | 200 | 100 | 2x standard |
| Google AI Pro | $19.99 | 500 | 300 | 4x standard |
| Google AI Ultra (20 TB) | From $99.99 | 500 | 500 | 5x Pro |
| Google AI Ultra (30 TB) | $199.99 | 500 | 600 | 20x Pro |

The Ultra rows pair the help center's storage tiers with the subscriptions page's prices and multipliers: $99.99 for 5x Pro and $199.99 for 20x Pro. The help center says Ultra is "5x or 20x" Pro depending on the subscription. The two pages do not state which storage tier goes with which price, so treat that pairing as likely, not confirmed.

## How the usage allowance works

Google does not publish a count of chats, Audio Overviews or Video Overviews per day for any plan. Its usage limits page gives multipliers instead: Plus gets two times the standard limits, Pro four times, and Ultra five or twenty times the Pro limits.

The limits are based on compute, not a fixed number of requests. Google says they depend on how complex your prompts are, which models and features you use, and how long the chat is. The quota refreshes every 5 hours until you reach a weekly limit. To see where you stand, open Gemini Notebook and go to Settings, then Usage.

One more detail from the source limits page: reports, flashcards, infographics, slide decks and audio or video overviews that Gemini Notebook generates do not count toward the notebook and source limits.

The wording differs a little between Google's pages. The subscriptions page says Pro has "5x more Audio Overviews, notebooks, and more" than the free tier, while the help center says four times the standard limits. Google does not explain the gap, so use the help center's numbers for planning.

## What else changes between plans

The help center lists a few other differences:

- Gemini model access: standard on the free plan, higher on Pro, highest on Ultra.
- Early access to new features: standard on free, early on Plus, priority on Pro and Ultra.
- Watermark removal on generated content: not on free or Plus, yes on Pro and Ultra. A visible watermark is still applied if you live in India, South Korea or Vietnam.
- Advanced sharing is for paid users. Custom chat and analytics are available to everyone.

Sharing a notebook does not change the source limit for the people you share it with.

## Business and enterprise pricing

Google's subscriptions page lists Workspace business plans per seat: $21 a month for Business, which includes Gemini Notebook for enterprise, and $30 a month for the Standard and Plus edition, which adds enterprise compliance features. Both are listed as "starting at" prices. The help center gives no numeric limits for enterprise, only that it offers 5x or more notebook artifacts than the standard plan.

## What Google has not said

Google has not published daily or weekly caps in numbers, so the multipliers above are the most precise figures available. The subscriptions page also says limits are subject to change, and the help center says the same. Check both pages before you pay, and check regional availability, since Google says some AI benefits are limited to users 18 and older.

Next to watch: the usage limits page, where Google would add real numbers if it starts publishing them.
