Hex raises $100M: the maker of an AI analytics platform said on October 27 that it closed a $100 million financing round at a $1.2 billion valuation. PeakXV and 137 Ventures led the round. The company also announced Hex 4.0, a rewrite it says is built around code and designed for AI agents.
Hex sells a workspace where analysts and business users explore data, run notebooks and build interactive data apps. The money is a bet that agents will do more of that work. Hex says more than 2,500 customers use it, six years after its 2019 founding.
Who invested
Amplify, Avra, a16z, Redpoint, Sequoia and Zero Prime also took part. Hex says it will use the money to grow the team, expand its sales and marketing, and keep building the product. The announcement does not say how much of the round is new money or whether existing investors sold shares.
What Hex 4.0 changes
Hex describes the release as a from-scratch rewrite that puts code at the center, with AI agents as first-class users of the platform. The post covers four areas: data exploration, agentic notebooks, self-serve analytics and data apps. The company gave no benchmark numbers or customer results for the new version in the post.
What we don't know yet
Hex did not publish revenue, growth figures or a Hex 4.0 release date in the announcement. The $1.2 billion valuation and the customer count are the company's own figures.
Watch for Hex 4.0 availability and pricing, which the post does not state. For other recent AI infrastructure rounds, see our report on General Compute's $100M Series A.
